Beautiful Blogger Award!!

I am so chuffed!! I came home late last night and found a Beautiful Blogger Award waiting for me from Michelle !! Thanks Michelle, you made my day/night/week!!

So this is a fun award that comes with a few rules, share 10 things about yourself and pass it on to other Beautiful Bloggers.

So, here is 10 things about me (it's really hard to think of 10 things people might actually want to know!!) ........

1. I have been a Stampin' Up! Demo since October 2008, I joined the same week I started my job at ANZ bank as prior to that I didn't have the flexibility to do anything like this.

2. I have two beautiful children, Ryan is 4 1/2 and Alannah is 3, I work 2 days a week but get to spend the rest of my time with them :) I have been happily married for 5 years to my husband Andre.

3. I joined SU thinking that I would do a few workshops to pay for my kit and a few more things that I wanted and then just be a hobbyist. Well, fast forward 20 months and I am now a Manager with a team of 12!!

4. I have been stamping for 17 years and scrapbooking for nearly 5 years. I have done almost every kind of craft you can think of but keep coming back to stamping :)

5. I have a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting and Finance) but next year I am going to go back to uni and do my Graduate Diploma in Education to become a teacher! Stampin' Up has woken up the creative side of my brain!!

6. I have a lovely group of friends who all get together twice a year and hire a house so we can
scrapbook and stamp all weekend long. Can't wait for the next one!!

7. I am a Coke-a-holic. I don't drink coffee so it is my caffeine fix

8. I had gastric banding surgery 2 years ago and lost 25 kgs. Imagine how much I could have lost if I gave up the Coke!!

9. As a teenager, I was a member of the Western Australian State Girls Chorale and sang at the Sydney Opera House!

10. My sister came on my honeymoon! My husband has his own business and one of his biggest jobs scheduled a week into our honeymoon to Singapore. So instead of cancelling the whole thing, my husband flew home early and my sister flew out to spend another week with me! It was the best of both worlds really!

Phew! That was hard! The next bit is harder though! I have to pick a few people to send it on to! I admire MANY bloggers so this is just a small selection. I went through my Convention swaps to find the ones that appealed to me most and also tried to give it to people who haven't
received it before :)

I hereby award the Beautiful Blogger Award to.......

Ok, thats all I can manage! It took me all day to come up with these ones as there are SOOO many gorgeous blogs out there!!

Will be back in a day or so to post the cards from this month's workshops :)

Convention Swaps

Well, I am now in Sydney having a blast at Stampin' Up! Convention. Can't wait to share lots of news and pics with you when I get back. In the meantime, I wanted to share pictures of the swaps I did for Convention. Swaps are where demonstrators make a bunch of the same card to swap with other demonstrators. It's a great way to get ideas and inspiration.

I was looking to do something a little different and this is what I came up with. It's called a Colour Me Card and it is a card to give to kids that they can colour in themselves! How cool is that??!!

Stamps: Pony Party, Occassional Greetings
Cardstock: Kraft, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Inks & Accessories: Basic Black Ink, Cutter Kit, Brads, Word Window Punch, ¾” Circle Punch, Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon

I have done a little flip chart with 3 pictures so the kids have more to colour in :)

I have used a gorgeous stamp from the new Autumn-Winter Mini called Pony Party. It has a heap of little accessories as you can see from the next picture

These pictures show what is in the flip chart. Aren't the accessories cute!! I can see myself making MANY cute little girls cards with this set!!

And, to top it off.................

A pack of pencils inside the card :) I made a box to measure for the pencils. To stop it from sliding out when you hold the card up I tied some ribbon and threaded it through the window. I have attached the box to the card using Dotto which is a repositional adhesive so you can remove the pencils if you like.

So what do you think?? I was pretty proud of myself for this card. I really hope the other demos like it as much as I do!

I made 50 of these as they were quite labour intensive. I wanted to take 100 swaps to Convention though, so I decided to do a different idea for my second 50.

This is what I came up with :)

If you haven't seen these before they are a bookmark made from a giant paperclip. Very cute! I made these flowers by punching out 7 or 8 of the 5 petal flower punch in designer series papers and then screwing them up and then unscrewing them. I have then attached them to a flower punch in green for the leaves and secured them with a brad. Then you just arrange them to suit the way you want them to look. You can also do these with the scallop circle and the butterfly punch, they all give a slightly different looking flower :)

Here is the box of finished bookmarks done in all different colours :)

Supplies: Assorted DSP, Brad, Kiwi Kiss/Old Olive Cardstock, 1" circles in assorted coloured Cardstock to attach to the paperclip with dimensionals.
Tools: 5 petal flower punch

Ok, that's it from me. I will be back in a few days all pumped up from Convention so watch this space!!!

A Creative Weekend....

I promised to share with you some of the things I made on my recent weekend away with friends. So here we are! I am really pleased with everything I did! It's amazing what you can do when there are no kids or husbands around to bug us!!
I made a few of each card so I could build up my stash of cards! A busy birthday time coming up!

This card is my FAVOURITE of all the cards I did this weekend. It was inspired by a card made by a friend Anita. Thanks Anita!

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey, Baja Breeze

Inks: Not quite Navy, Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch, Word Window Punch, White Gel Pen

Isn't it gorgeous! I think I like it better without the eyes on the birds

Stamp Sets: Medallion, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Very Vintage Wheel
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive Very Vanilla
Inks & Accessories:Chocolate Chip, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Top Note Die,Lots of Tags Sizzlits, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Chocolate Chip 1/4" inch grosgrain ribbon, hemp twine

I CASEd this card from my friend (and downline) Zara. Hopefully one day she will start a blog as she does some gorgeous work :)

Stamp Sets: Fox & Friends, Curvy Verses

Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Perfect Plum,Melon Mambo, Kraft, Pink Pirouette

Inks & Accessories: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Crimper, Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon

Another CASE from Zara, isn't she clever! She made the one in the boy colours and I made the one in the girls colours then we swapped one! The best bit about this card was that I was able to precut the squares to the right size and, using the clear blocks, stamp in the right spot! Made it much easier.

The next card is just a little one, using one of the Notecards. Great for little gift tags.

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Cardstock: Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Whisper White, Cottage Garden DSP

Inks & Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Ink, Extra Large Two-step Bird, Word Window Punch, Lots of Tags Sizzlet, brad

Lastly, I did a scrapbook page of my angel (who will be 3 tomorrow, can you believe it!!) using the new Sunny Days Simply Scrappin Kit. All the elements, except the alphabet, are from the kit. Look how easy it is to put together a bright and happy page!

Supplies: Sunny Days Simply Scrappin Kit, Alphabet Dies, Whisper White Cardstock

Ok, that's it from me. I am getting really excited about Convention! Only 8 sleeps to go! I have scheduled a post to show you Convention swaps while I am at Convention so come back and see what I made :)

Happy stamping!

Some more cards to share...

After my scrap weekend with my friends last weekend I have HEAPS to show you but haven't managed to photograph it all yet. I will soon I promise!!

In the meantime, here is some other new cards to keep you going :)

This first card was the one I made for my wonderful hubby for our 5 year wedding anniversary :)

Cardstock: Kraft, Ridinghood Red, Whisper White
Inks & Accessories: Chocolate Chip Ink, Old Olive Ink, Ridinghood Red Ink, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Top Note Die (Big Shot)

The next one was inspired by a card I saw on Splitcoast Stampers which I can't find now!! So thankyou to whoever it was!

I LOVE this card, I think it is perfect for a male card and could be lovely if you change the colours to make it more feminine :) I have made multiple copies of this card and changed the sentiment on each one - so easy to do with Teeny Tiny Sentiments!!

Oh and if you look closely you can see that the medallion stamp has been clear embossed which just gives it a bit more oomph!!

Stamp Set: Medallion Stamp, Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White

Inks & Accessories: Not Quite Navy Ink, Baja Breeze Ink, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Top Note Die (Big Shot), Lots of Tags Sizzlets (Big Shot), Silver Brads, Word Window Punch

Last one, this was another card I thought would be good as a masculine card.

Stamp Sets: Pendant Park, Best Yet (Hostess Set)

Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla

Ink & Accessories: Sage Shadow Ink, Chocolate Chip Ink, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (Big Shot), 1-3/8" Circle Punch , Circles #2 Orginals Die (Big Shot)
