Just Add Ink #25

Hi Everyone!

Had a lovely evening catching up with some friends. Stamping, scrapping, chatting and chocolate. What more could you ask for!!

I had another go at the Just Add Ink Challenge. Having a ball doing these. The girls come up with some really gorgeous colour combos that really stick in my head!

This week's Colour Challenge is below.....

and here is what I came up with. Played around with MANY different ideas and am really happy with the end result. I have been wanting to use a ribbon rosette on a card for ages and have been tring to get a more layered effect with it. I think it looks pretty good. I didn't have a button in the right colour so I turned one of the SU buttons over to the rough side and sponged ink on it!!

Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, Occassional Greetings
Cardstock & Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Soft Suede, Rose Red
Accessories: Rose Red Wide Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Button Bouquet, Scallop Edge Punch, Mat Pack

This Month's Workshop Cards

Hi Everyone

Just before I get into the cards I have to show you today, I just wanted to tell you that the Papercraft Roadshow in Perth has been cancelled :( Hopefully it will happen next year and we will get the chance to be involved again :)

Ok, now for some cards. I have had a busy month for workshops this month and consequently I have done the same cards for all the workshops. I do have one workshop to go this month but hopefully the attendees won't mind me spoiling the surprise if they happen to pop in here :)

So the first one is one that I intended to be a masculine card as I get a lot of requests for these.

It does use a floral set but I think with the colours I have used it can still be used for a male.

Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Vintage Labels (SAB Set)
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
Accessories: Pacific Point Ink, Baja Breeze Ink, Kiwi Kiss Ink, Whisper White Ink, Pacific Point 5/8" Striped Grosgrain, Scallop Circle Punch, 3/4 " circle punch

The next card is so simple, using a set that I use a lot but still really appeals to me. It is a Gatefold Card and with a change of colour scheme could easily pass for any age or gender.

Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, Big Bold Birthday, Whimsical Words (SAB Set)
Cardstock: Kraft, Ridinghood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Accessories: Ridinghood Red Ink, Pretty in Pink Ink, Ridinghood Red Taffeta, Wide Oval Punch

Here is another picture which shows you how the Gatefold opens

That's it for me for now. I will be back in the next week or so with some sneak peeks of some of the goodies in the new catalogue. Only 15 days to go!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone

I'm in love!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought some of the Stampin' Write Markers and I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!! I love the versatility and the flexibility it gives to my stamps. Lucky for all of you my new obsession ties into Stampin' Up!'s latest promotion!!

From 10 - 30 November you can buy any of the Stampin' Write Markers individually!! This has never been offered before so take advantage and buy all your favourite colours for only $4.95 each! You can use the markers for so many things. Ink your stamps in different colours, use it to colour your neutral ribbons, colour your images, ink the edges of your cards with ease.......... the list goes on!! Check out the link to the right -----------> for more information.
Oh and stay tuned as there is also another promotion on for the same period but I am unable to share any details right now :(

I have made a couple of cards today using the markers. I am quite in love with this colour combo right now!

This Christmas card is not exactly in traditional colours, but who says they have to be red and green! Cardstock used here is Taken with Teal, Elegant Eggplant and the image is stamped on Whisper White. I used the Stampin' Write markers to ink the Seasons of Joy stamp in Taken with Teal, Bravo Burgundy and Elegant Eggplant. Then I used the Stampa-majig to stamp the same image over the top in Versamark and clear embossed it. I have used my favourite stamp (again, lol!) from Baroque Motifs on the Elegant Eggplant cardstock in Versamark. The ribbon is from the Ribbon Originals set 'Theater'

My favourite colour scheme again, lol! Cardstock is Taken with Teal and Elegant Eggplant. Image is stamped on Whisper White. I have used the Stampin' Write Markers in Taken with Teal, Elegant Eggplant and Bravo Burgundy to colour the image in the Lexicons of Love stamp set. The Taken with Teal card has been stamped with the Love Swirls Wheel in Versamark. The ribbons are Taken with Teal and Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grosgrain.
I have also been busy restocking my 'goodie' basket for a couple of workshops I have this week.

This is a memo cube which is a gift for my hostess. I have used the Prints Designer Series Paper in Close to Cocoa. This paper series is DIVINE!! The cardstock is Close to Cocoa and the ribbon is Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain. The image is an 'Urban West' rubon in white on Close to Cocoa cardstock.

These are some of the covered notepads I have done using the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin Kit. I can't believe how far this kit has been stretching! The ribbons are all 1/4" grosgrain in Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink.

This is another variation on the memo cube. Its actually a memo box made of cardstock with loose sheets of paper. This also uses the Secret Garden Scrappin Kit and Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.

If any of these 'goodies' look good to you, feel free to contact me to book a workshop!

Well that's it for now folks! Hope to be back with more very soon.

Ok, I'm back!! And with something to show you!!

It is soooo like me to start a blog then post monthly, so I am really going to try hard to post more often than that. I PROMISE!!!

I have done some sample cards for my workshops so I thought I would upload them here in case anybody needed inspiration :)

So here they are (apologies for the bad photos, they didn't upload well).............

This was one of the cards I did for my first workshop. It uses Purely Pomegranite and Wild Wasabi textured cardstock. The stamp set is 'Season of Joy' from the Spring Mini Catalogue. The image is embossed using Versamark and the clear embossing powder. I have also done some faux stitching using the mat pack and white pen. It was really easy and looks quite effective!

This card is done almost entirely from components of the 'Secret Garden' Simply Scrappin' Kit. The textured cardstock is Old Olive and River Rock. The rest of the components are self-adhesive die cuts and a Rhinestone Brad thrown in for good luck ;D The flower in the top left corner is from the Baroque Motifs set stamped in Old Olive Ink on River Rock cardstock.

This card is also mainly Secret Garden Simply Scrappin components. The patterened paper and self adhesive die-cuts are all part of the kit. The cardstock is Old Olive textured (also part of teh kit) and the ribbon is Certainly Celerey 1/4" grosgrain.

This was the second card I did for my first workshop. It is using my absolute FAVOURITE stamp set, Baroque Motifs. The cardstock is Purely Pomegranite textured cardstock (another favourite) and the image uses Versamark and clear embossing powder. The 'Merry Christmas' is from the Seasons of Joy set (from the Spring mini) and it is stamped in Purely Pomegranite Ink. Ribbon is Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain

This card is using the Heartfelt Thanks 2 step stampin' set. I am actually quite fond of this set even though I didn't think it was 'my thing'. The cardstocks are Purely Pomegranite and Old Olive. The 'cherish' stamp is from the Baroque Motifs set. The ribbon is Very Vanilla 1/4" grosgrain.

This card is a complete CASE from page 77 of the Ideas Book & Catalogue. I just LOVED the way it used the Garden Whimsey Set. Cardstock is Soft Sky, Old Olive and Whisper White. Inks are Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranite and Old Olive. I used a self adhesive border strip from the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin Kit to do the border at the bottom.

This, again, uses my favourite set Baroque Basics. I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot of this stamp set, lol! The textured cardstock and patterened paper is from the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin Kit (I am gettin a WHOLE lot of milege out of this kit!). Colours are River Rock and Old Olive. Ink is Old Olive and Purely Pomegranite. Ribbon is Certainly Celery 1/4" grosgrain.

Here I am using the Heartfelt Thanks set again on Perfect Plum carstock. I have run the Garden Annuals Wheel over the carstock with Perfect Plum ink to give it some detail. Mounting cardstock is Old Olive and the ribbon is Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grosgrain. Ink is Old Olive and Lovely Lilac

This card uses Figures of Speech which was my very first Stampin' Up! stamp set (before I became a demonstrator). This set is so versatile. I have used Itty Bitty Backgrounds on Purely Pomegranite Cardstock and then used Cameo Coral Cardstock with the matpack to do some piercing for detail.

I would love to hear any comments you have :)

Tomorrow I will try to upload all the Stampin' Up! catalogues etc, so bear with me!!

Until next time
Lisa
