Just Add Ink #35

Its been a while since I have done a Just Add Ink Challenge, I have been so busy! Tonight I felt in need of some direction, so I headed to JAI to see what the Challenge was. This week it is a Theme Challenge...... Just Add Sympathy. I haven't made one of these for a while (which in this case is a good thing!) so I struggled with where to start. I decided to use a set from the New Catalogue called 'Just Believe'
Its a really lovely set which could fit many themes.

When I stamped the main image I decided to try a shadow effect. I stamped the main image and then straight after lifting the stamp moved it very slightly to the left and stamped again. Its hard to see in the photo but it gives it a lovely shadow.

I have also used some of the New In Colours! Expect to see more of these colours, they are YUMMY!!

Stamp Sets: Just Believe, Occassional Quotes (Level 3 Hostess Set)
Cardstock & Ink: Concord Crush Cardstock, Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, Bashful Blue Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Concord Crush Ink
Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Wide Oval Punch

Enjoy your Sunday :)

The Last Hurrah.....

Well everyone, as fun as it has been, today is the last day of the Helping Hudson event. Thanks to everyone who supported Hudson. It has been such a fun things to be involved with :)

I decided to quickly knock out the last two cards for the Challenges today, which sounds easier than it was! I just could not get them right! Eventually I came up with two cards that I like.

Here they are....
The first one is for the Helping Hudson Colour Challenge. The Challenge being to choose one colour (can use varying shades of that particular colour) and one neutral. I have a Wedding Party to go to tonight so I decided to make a card for them under the Challenge.
I really like the finished card. To get the mottled effect on the Medallion, I inked the stamp up in Baja Breeze ink and then used a sponge dauber to dab Not Quite Navy ink in parts. The layering on the tag is done using the scallop oval punch and trimming off the top and bottom scallops/

Stamp Sets: Medallion, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock & Inks: Not Quite Navy Cardstock, Baja Breeze Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock. Not Quite Navy Ink, Baja Breeze Ink
Accessories: Ice Crystal Brads, Scallop Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Very Vanilla Tafetta Ribbon

The next one is a Notecard inspired but a card from Marelle Taylor. This card is for the Helping Hudson Sketch Challenge as well as the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge.

I used a new Hostess Set from the New Catalogue being released in just 11 days!!! It is called Playful Pieces and has my head swimming with possibilities!! The base of the cupcake was a rectangle, but I trimmed it down to look like a cupcake base. The top of the cupcake is half a scallop circle punch. The background is using Real Red ink that I have stamped off so it is a bit more subtle.

Stamp Sets: Playful Pieces, Tiny Tags
Cardstock & Inks: Kraft Cardstock, Real Red Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Chocolate Chip Cardstock, Real Red Ink, Versamark
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Tafetta Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Tafetta Ribbon, Linen Thread, Scallop Circle Punch, Small Jewellery Tag Punch, Heat & Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds

Ok lovely people, I have to be getting ready to go out. Tomorrow I plan to get a start on my swaps for Regionals. Wish me luck!!

More Sneak Peeking!!

I'm a bit late this week with the Helping Hudson Challenge so I decided to combine it with the Just Add Ink Challenge again :)

This week's Just Add Ink Challenge is Just Add Wheels (in honour of the Helping Hudson Event) and the Helping Hudson Challenge is a Colour Challenge using the following colours.......
Since the JAI Challenge is Wheels, I decided to use the new Jumbo Wheel I got with my preorder. Its called Baby Tees and is very cute!! Very versatile too, you can use it as a wheel or cut the images out and mount them individually. My card is actually a combination of both!

Stamp Sets: Tiny Tags, Baby Tees (Wheel)

Cardstock & Ink: Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Medium Jewellery Tag , Blender Pens, Rhinestone Brad (Pretties Kit), Linen Thread
Hope you like it :)

Multitasking....

Hi everyone

Had a busy weekend putting together a Flip Flop Album for a very special friend of the family. I hope they like it!

I wasn't sure if I was going to have time to do the Just Add Ink Challenge this week as I had the album to complete and a class to prepare for. So in the end I decided to combine the Challenge with one of my Gift Card Class projects, Multitasking at its best!!

The Challenge was a Colour Challenge this week, here are the colours......

I am really enjoying these Colour Challenges as they are generally colours I wouldn't use together as a rule and sadly, I don't think I have ever used Always Artichoke!!

So here is my entry, it is a Top Note Gift Card Holder...

and the inside........

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock & Ink: Kraft Cardstock, Rose Red Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Always Artichoke Cardstock, Raspberry Tart DSP, Rose Red Ink
Accessories: 2 Step Bird Punch, Top Note Die (Big Shot), Circles Die (Big Shot), 3/4" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch

TFL!!

I am in full Challenge mode right now! With the Helping Hudson event Challenges beginning tonight, I decided to have a go but combined it with the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge!

I am quite happy with how this turned out actually considering it started off very simply.
I like hemp twine on male cards but decided a little braiding might add a bit of a different touch :)

Plus, if you are observant you will notice I have used a set that isn't in the current catalogue........ a Sneak Peek perhaps????!!

Stamp Set: Perfect Punches (Sneak Peek)
Cardstock & Ink: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Kraft, Baja Breeze Patterns DSP, Chocolate Chip Ink
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Double Stitched Wide Grosgrain, Scallop Edge Punch, Hemp Twine, Lots of Tags (Sizzix Die), Wide Oval Punch

Hope you like it, I am hoping to complete the other two Helping Hudson Challenges tomorrow so keep an eye out :)

Just Call me Organised!!!!

I have been talking to a few friends and we are all convinced that there is 'something in the air' at the moment!! We are all being far too productive and organised which is NOT like us as a general rule!!

Take ME for example, not only have I completed a card for the Just Add Ink Challenge this week. I have also completed a SECOND card!!! Not only that, I have finished all the craft preparations for my son's 5th birthday that is 6 weeks away!!!! I am usually lucky to get things done 6 miniutes before!!

So, this post is a share AND a brag!!

Here is the second card I made for the JAI Sketch Challenge (see previous post for sketch) which will probably become my son's birthday card being that these are all his favourite colours :)

Stamp Sets: Fox & Friends, On Your Birthday, Simple Serif Mini Alphabet & Numbers

Cardstock & Inks: Rich Razzleberry Cardstock & Ink, Melon Mambo Cardstock & Ink, Tempting Turquoise Cardstock & Ink, Kiwi Kiss, Cardstock & Ink, Whisper White Cardstock

Accessories: 1-3/8" Square Punch, Scallop Square Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain ribbon

Nice and bright isn't it??!!

While we are on the topic of me being organised, here is what I have been working on for Ryan's birthday. Can you believe I made 36 of these??!! I am sure the kindy mums will think I am a complete freak!!

and a close up..........

Ok, back to being organised!!
Enjoy your week

Just Add Ink #27

Hi Everyone
Hope you are having a great weekend. I wasn't sure I was going to have time to do the challenge this week, but decided to have a crack at it at 1am so please excuse my effort!!

Not entirely sure I like it but you never know, it may grow on me like all the others!!

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. I have flipped the sketch , but otherwise I have followed it pretty closely.

So here is my entry.....
Stamp Sets: Medallion, Best Yet
Cardstock & Inks: Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, Melon Mambo Cardstock, Rich Razzleberry Ink, Melon Mambo Ink, Very Vanilla Cardstock
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Melon Mambo Grosgrain Ribbon, Mat Pack

For this one, I decided to go bright and use one of my favourite colour combos. First I inked up the Medallion stamp in Melon Mambo and then used a sponge to dab Rich Razzleberry in spots to give it a different look. I quite like how it turned out :) Not sure how it works on the card overall, but it certainly IS different!! I also used the scraps of the stamped image to cut the scallop oval.
Ok, I think its bed time for this little chicken.
Night all!

Just Add Embossing :)

Its that time again! Time for another Just Add Ink Challenge. I like having a reason to get out my craft stuff, especially if I don't have a workshop.

For this challenge I decided to step RIGHT outside my comfort zone and go a little Vintage! I had a picture in my head and wanted to see if I could put it onto paper.

I used the Emboss Resist Technique for this card and although it is not my 'usual' style, I am finding it growing on me :)

Stamp Sets: En Fraincais, Friends 24-7, Vintage Vogue
Cardstock & Inks: Baja Breeze Cardstock, Not Quite Navy Cardstock, Basic Grey Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Baja Breeze Ink, Not Quite Navy Ink
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stamp-A-Majig, Baja Breeze Ribbon, (Pearl from Pretties Kit), Mat Pack, Word Window Punch.

So, first I stamped the En Francais background stamp in Baja Breeze and then I stamped over the top with the motif from Friends 24-7 in Versamark. After each stamp, I clear embossed the image. I had to use my trusty Stamp-a-Majig to line them up, seriously what did I do before I had one of these??!!! After all that (it took quite a while, lol!) I went over the lot with my brayer in Not Quite Navy Ink. I had A LOT of trouble finishing this card off as I didn't want to take away from the background, but in the end I went simple and just used the word 'Friends' from Vintage Vogue. I isolated the sentiment from the stamp with my marker.

So what do you think ?? The background reminds me a bit of wallpaper, lol!

Just Add Ink #25

Hi Everyone!

Had a lovely evening catching up with some friends. Stamping, scrapping, chatting and chocolate. What more could you ask for!!

I had another go at the Just Add Ink Challenge. Having a ball doing these. The girls come up with some really gorgeous colour combos that really stick in my head!

This week's Colour Challenge is below.....

and here is what I came up with. Played around with MANY different ideas and am really happy with the end result. I have been wanting to use a ribbon rosette on a card for ages and have been tring to get a more layered effect with it. I think it looks pretty good. I didn't have a button in the right colour so I turned one of the SU buttons over to the rough side and sponged ink on it!!

Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, Occassional Greetings
Cardstock & Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Soft Suede, Rose Red
Accessories: Rose Red Wide Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Button Bouquet, Scallop Edge Punch, Mat Pack

Just Add Ink #24

I am really enjoying doing the Just Add Ink Challenges. 3 weeks in a row, I must be!!

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge (see below). It's a very simple sketch and up to you how you interpret it. I made one card and didn't like it, so made another and ended up going back to the first one again!! The first one just seemed to grow on me :)

So for both of the cards I did, I decided to use the Masking Technique.

So this is the card I am submitting to the challenge. I really wasn't sure about it at first, but now I quite like it. It's simple but effective I think.

Stamp Sets: A Happy Heart
Cardstock & Inks: Ridinghood Red cardstock, Pretty in Pink Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Ridinghood Red Ink, Pretty in Pink Ink (and markers)
Accessories: Ridnghood Red taffeta ribbon, stapler

This is the second one I made. I had a lot of trouble with it as I think it looks 'messy' but thought I would post it anyway :)
Stamp Sets: Party Hearty, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, A Happy Heart, Scribble This
Cardstock & Ink: Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, Melon Mambo Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Rich Razzleberry Ink, Melon Mambo Ink, Pretty in Pink Ink
Accessories: Melon Mambo Ribbon, Build a Brad

I hope you like my cards. I will be back tomorrow with the invites I made for a friend's baby shower.

Have a great weekeknd :)
